The words beautiful and Industrial dont often fall into the same sentence but this piece of furniture is both! if you like industrial furnishings, dont be tempted by cheap reproduction, have the genuine article and own a piece of history.
This piece was originally an antique mitre-cutting table from an old joinery workshop. It was used for making picture frames. The handle at the back would be raised and lowered to engage the blades. The angle of the cut could be set by use of the gauge on the back. The blades have been carefully blunted to avoid injury See the close up photos for the makers names.
The grey painted super-heavy cast iron base has the most interesting shape and is very unusual.
Would make a unique side table.
