This poster was produced to publicise the opening night of the Scarborough Capitol Theatre on Albemarle Crescent in 1929. The opening show was the Garden of Allah.
The theatre is now owned by Mecca Bingo but much of the exterior and the concert hall has been retained in its original Art Deco style.
The poster has obvious signs of age and damage. It was pasted to a black framed board which makes it easy to hang and display.
An interesting item of theatre history and Scarborough in particular. The heading features typical Art Deco typeface.
