These are without doubt the most unique lights we have for sale…
Salvaged from a WWII Spitfire Merlin engine which lay at the bottom of the sea for 40 years after the Spitfire aircraft they helped power crashed off the Dorset coast in November 1940. On recovery, very little remained of the aircraft due to the corrosive attack of sea water but the engine and propellers were buried in the mud and were in good condition.
The patina to the outside of the piston liners is outstanding and has only been lightly cleaned and waxed to maintain this.
A slim band of copper has been added to provide interesting contrast.
