This large laminated wooden propeller is a genuine piece of aviation history dating back to WWI era aircraft.
The tips of the propellers would have been removed to enable this to be used on a ground running engine.
Minimally restored to retain its authentic look. The aged wooden surface has been lightly waxed to show the beautiful grain.
There are some part markings near the centre boss which are fairly hard to distinguish but one part reads 1906. I am not sure if this is a date or just a reference number...
Mounted on a steel fixing plate to enable this to be displayed to maximum effect in a number of positions. This plate can easily be removed if required.
Size 154cm from tip to tip. Diameter of central boss 24cm. Depth 16cm.
A great item for anyone interested in aviation history.
