Original Star Wars Cantina Lamp – Aero Salvage – SOLD

Star Wars Cantina Lamp

Product Description

This lamp is made from a Rolls-Royce Derwent engine  combustion chamber.  This is identical to the parts used by the creators of Star Wars to produce props such as  ‘The Star Wars Cantina’ which was used in a scene set in a town called Mos Eisley on the planet Tatooine in the original Star Wars film – Episode IV A New Hope.  Other parts from the Derwent engine were also used to make the Light Sabre and the IG-88 Assassin Droid.

This is a rare Derwent engine which has been stripped to remove these genuine aero salvage parts.  See part numbers engraved on the polished surface.

The combustion case is made of nickel and has been polished and mounted on a steel rod and pedestal for stability.  All detail on the case is original and no additional holes or parts have been added to ensure that this is a true match to those which were used in the film.  See still image from the film which shows the Cantina in a bar.   An aluminium disc has been engraved with detail of the piece plus an image of Darth Vader.

The lamp is fitted with an Edison bulb which can be seen through the cut outs and casts beautiful shapes and shadows.

A unique item, a beautiful sculptural lamp and an absolute trophy piece for any Star Wars fan.

Height 88cm.  30cm wide.

The lamp is wired with 3 metres of dark brown braided flex and plug.  The lamp has been PAT tested independently.  The Edison bulb is included in the sale.
