Oval Mirror from the early days at RAF Station Croughton.
An interesting piece of aeronautical history. Perfect for anyone with a historical interest in the RAF.
RAF Croughton was built just before the start of WWII. It played an active part in the war and is still there today operating as USAF communications station.
The top of the mirror glass is etched with the RAF wings logo and the bottom of the mirror RAF Station Croughton. Mirror glass is in good condition with just a little speckling.
Condition – please note that the frame is wooden with a gesso covering which has some damage in one place – approximately 9cm of the Gesso has come away. This damage is to the back of the frame not the front edge so isn’t too noticeable. See photo for more detail.
Please note that vintage items will often have superficial damage to them – wear to paint or superficial scratches.
Size – 60cm x 49cm. Mirror glass measures 49 x 39cm.
Hanging chain attached to the back.
