Rolls-Royce Merlin Lancaster Camshaft – on Brass Wall Mounts SOLD

This Rolls-Royce Camshaft was removed from the remains of a merlin engine powering Lancaster R5539 which crashed while carrying out diving trials over Boscombe Downs with a simulated load of concrete bombs. More details will be supplied along with this item.

A piece of WWII history, the camshaft is in good condition although it does have pitting to the surface metal.  See photos for more information.

A set of brass wall mounts have been fabricated so that this item can be displayed, removed and rotated by hand.  It is a tactile piece and beautifully engineered.

Size approximately 1metre wide.
