Product Description

This is a classic original M3 Flak Helmet which came from the estate of a named veteran a Herman Hansen who was believed to be an B25 aerial gunner . The Helmet was purchased from an estate auction in the US along with several other items.

The Helmet has the original flocking on the outside according to our research reveals this was done to prevent the build up of ice and protect bare flesh from sticking to bare metal. It comes with the liner complete and the ear pads are still attached. The strap is still functional and intact.

More importantly each ear flap bears a Wehrmacht symbol.  There are some suggestions that that these symbols were unofficially awarded when the wearer shot down enemy aircraft...

Model head included in the sale.

A ration book containing Hansen's name and home address is also provided in the sale.
