Description
This propeller is from a US Air Force B17 Bomber which crashed during WWII in Germany. A B17 aircraft is powered by four P&W R1830 aircraft, each of which has three propellers. They were more commonly known as The Flying Fortress.
The paint finish to this propeller has been lightly restored.
Mounted on a heavy steel plate painted black topped with a series of concentric circular stepped plates in polished aluminium.
Size – approximately 1.3 metres tall.
Two other propellers are available from the same aircraft – unrestored at present.
